How long is a session?
Individual and adolescent sessions are 50 minutes. Couples sessions are 90 minutes, so there's real time for both of you rather than half an hour each.

 

Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly, and you don't need to have seen a GP first.

 

Is counselling confidential?
Yes. What you say stays in the room, with narrow legal exceptions around serious risk of harm. I'll explain exactly what those are in your first session, so you know where you stand from the start.

 

Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, over secure video — and you can mix the two, in person when it suits and online when life gets in the way.

 

Where are you, and where do I park?
Studio 2, Sun Suites, Level 1, 46 Old Barrenjoey Road, Avalon Beach. On street parking is available, or it is a 5 minute walk from Avalon main bus stop.

 

What if I need to cancel?
Please give at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations inside 24 hours are charged 50% of the full fee — the time is held for you and rarely fills at short notice. If something genuinely unavoidable comes up, tell me and we will re-schedule for next available time. 

 

How many sessions will I need?
It varies a great deal. Some people come for six weeks, others for a year. We review as we go, and you're free to stop whenever it feels right.

 

What if I don't know what to say?
Very common, and completely fine. "I don't know where to start" is a start
